Mobile Device Friendly BoatHouse Weather

Computer technology is ever changing. Actually everything is ever changing, but that's not important now. Mainframes ruled, then minis, then PCs, then laptops (sort of), now mobile devices-phones and tablets. We are in the Apple camp. This is written on a iMac, and we have both an iPhone and IPad nearby. When we are not sitting in front of the computer, we usually have a mobile device with us.

The web browsers available on mobile devices will display these pages, but the formatting is not optimal. Hence the need for BoatHouse Weather to have its information display modified so that it looks as good--if not better--on a mobile device.

So here are three solutions that you should definetly consider for your mobile devices.

Mobile Friendly Web Page

This works for any mobile device Click here to see a web page specially formatted for phones (looks good on my iPad also). It is simple to bookmark the page in the mobile device's web browser. On the Apple products, then you make it part of your home screen and you are all set.

Apple Only App

A programmer who lives in Arrowtown, New Zealond has created an app that displays weather station information in a stunning display on iPhones and pretty darn nice on the iPad. It costs $1.99 and is available in the app store as Under the Weather. Click here and go to the iTunes preview to get it.

Once you have it on your mobile device, then search for the BoatHouse Weather station and select it. You get current weather, forecast, charts and more. I really recommend this for iPhone users.

Android Only App

A programmer who lives in Wellington, UK in Shropshire (love the cheese) has made a free Android app that displays the weather from weather stations. I have never seen it, but it has gotten great reviews. Get it here. If you have trouble finding BoatHouse Weather in the search for weather stations let me know and I will fix any problem.
